Jesus drank wine....Why don't you have a cup?

Friends, Countreyman, Lend me Your Ear on this One...............

Okay I had to write about this my cousin and I had a conversation last night about this statement "JESUS DRANK WINE" when a christian chooses not to drink anymore. Its a way of saying "well Jesus drink so why can't you drink anymore?" When exactly did he drink wine? At the dinner table with his family maybe or wedding celebrations ?? "Then he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. Then he said, “Take this and share it among yourselves. For I will not drink wine again until the Kingdom of God has come.”(Luke 22:17-18) There is nothing wrong with having a glass of wine but, Jesus gives guidance on wine usage for the believers. Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, be filled with the Holy Spirit(Ephesians 5:18). When I did drink I could never just have 1 glass of wine or any alcoholic beverage for that matter,  I wanted about 2 or 3 uhm okay maybe more:) So for me it's better to just stay away and not even temp myself with the fate of drunkardness. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.(1 Corinthians 10:13)  I choose to remain filled with the Holy Spirit, live in the day at all times and leave the night time where it's at. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy.(Romans 13:13). With that being said if you choose to drink wine every now and then that's your choice and you are not going to hell for it just don't allow it to overtake you and don't try to pressure anyone else in to drinking with you. Amen

Drifting Away........

The Holy Spirit always brings this song to my remeberance when I'm starting to drift away. The Holy Spirit is the raft and the rope is this song that reels me back into the presence of God and focus on what he has spoken over my life. After all Jesus said he would loose not a one that the father gave to him. Thank God I am a Kept woman!

And this is the will of God, that I should not lose even one of all those he has given me, but that I should raise them up at the last day.(John 6:39)

There's No Fear in God

Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. (1 John 4:18)

But when I am afraid,I will put my trust in you.I praise God for what he has promised.I trust in God, so why should I be afraid? What can mere mortals do to me?(Psalm 56:3-4)

The fear of man brings a snare: but whoso puts his trust in the LORD shall be safe.(Proverbs 29:25)

Marsha Burns....Spirit of Prophecy....Small Straws in a Soft Wind

Early the next morning the army of Judah went out into the wilderness of Tekoa. On the way Jehoshaphat stopped and said, "Listen to me, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Believe in the LORD your God, and you will be able to stand firm. Believe in his prophets, and you will succeed."(2 Chronicles 20:20)

SMALL STRAWS IN A SOFT WIND by MARSHA BURNS:
You must rise above the circumstances that have created a place of despair in your heart. I have gone before you to establish your freedom from all darkness. But, you must access this liberty through faith. Take the time to re-focus and turn your concentration from obsession with difficulty to the victory that comes through obedience to My word, says the Lord. With Me all things are possible.
Luke 18:27 But He said, "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."

Hungry,Tired, Aggrivated......No Patience!

Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience.(James 1:3)

Phew, Today was a long day. It started at 6:30am with a Good Morning Lord, thank you for waking me up this morning and ended with JESUS TAKE THE WHEEL! It's amazing how the day to day grind of work, traffic, customers, family, hunger, can really test your patience. I made sure to start my work day off with praise and worship as soon as I opened up the store(Yes I pray my workplace down when I'm alone) but, of course my patience had to be tested. The closer I got to clockout  time the more aggrivated I got. It's funny when you have a combo of Hunger, Tiredness, Aggrivation even the wind gets on your nerve! Finally the Holy Spirit started speaking (your patience is being test) over and over again until it stuck. Earlier in the week I had already recieved James 1:3 "Knowing this, that the trying of your faith works patience" from my cuzzo by way of the Holy Spirit so I was already prepared for the test. I just wasn't prepared for it to come today at the hand of my work day and hunger pains. God is so amazing he uses the everyday things to teach and bring humilty in a weak area. Instead, God chose things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chose things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful.(1 Corinthians 1:27)  Don't limit God to strengthening you and correcting you on Sunday or at your weekly Bible Study. His class is always in session and he will always prepare you for the tests ahead of time you just have to recognize when he speaks (Class in Session)! Amen

Reading By Lamplight.........Bedtime Scriptures

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance(2 Peter 3:9)

For Yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.(Hebrews 10:37)

Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.(Psalm 27:4)

Teach Me to Pray...Jason Upton

Once Jesus was in a certain place praying. As he finished, one of his disciples came to him and said, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John taught his disciples."(Luke 11:1)

Help!!! My Communication is Off!

Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”(Matt 26:41)

Communication Killers....Lead to Temptation
I'm too tired I'll pray next time, I dont feel like it I'm mad, Ive been snapping, My neck has been rolling, Hold Up I'm about to cuss you out!!! How I Outta!!! I know I shouldn't be in this relationship but, it feels right. I just need some time to myself to figure out what I want my family will just have to understand, I'm Leaving, Just one more hit and I'll be straight. I NEED A DRINK! I need a shopping trip, God called me but, I'm not ready to give my life up just yet, Yes I was wrong but, God knows my heart, It's wrong but, I'll feel better etc...........

When my body feels run down or I find myself exhibitang traits that are not of the Holy spirit, But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,(Galatians 5:22) I know that my time spent with the Lord is off. My prayer life has slacked off and I find myself exhibiting characteristics I shouldn't be as a believer. My prayers become short like I'm going through a drive by resturant. Not because I don't want to pray but, because I've been so consummed with the cares of life. If we are not watchful and prayerful the enemy will come in like a flood and sweep the cares of life over you until you are no longer concerned about your relationship with the Lord but, how you are going to pay this or do that.Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.(1 Peter 5:8) A relationship with Christ is just like a marriage. As the Scriptures say, “A man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one. This is a great mystery, but it is an illustration of the way Christ and the church are one.(Ephesians 5:31-31). A lack of communication in a marriage can bring about all kinds of strife and make it easier to give into temptation. Before you know it your marriage is broken and so are you. So whenever you find yourself giving in to all types of temptation around you whether it's to curse someone out or indulge in something you don't normally do. Alert Alert It's time to pray! get on your knees and ask the Lord to help you. Communicate with Him about your hurts, fears, desires and struggles and listen to how much he cares and and whats to help you through. You cannot be faithful to the Lord on your own your fidelty depends on him. Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak(Matt 26:41)

Prayer,
Dear Lord, Please forgive me for the times I've excluded you. I need you I can't make it without you. Help me be consistent in prayer and keeping the lines of communication open between us. I want to be faithful in you and the life that you have called me to. In Jesus Name Amen!

Blessings,
Lisa

Reading by Lamplight.....Bedtime Scriptures

For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.(Luke 8:17)

So don’t make judgments about anyone ahead of time before the Lord returns. For he will bring our darkest secrets to light and will reveal our private motives. Then God will give to each one whatever praise is due.(1 Corinthians 4:5)

Let's Get Ready to Rumble........Fight Back!

                                                          (Mil & Pastor Shirley Ceaser)

My mother n law and I took a much needed road trip on Sunday. We had an amazing dinner and ended our trip at Mt. Calvary word of Faith in Raleigh NC where Shirley Ceaser is the Pastor. What an annointed WOG. She sung a few snippets of songs and gave a dance(Bless God) but, the meat(the word) was the main event. Bishop Floyd Nowlin from Lighthouse Jesus Christ in Georgetow SC delivered an on time much needed word to my spirit. His topic was "Fight Back". He talked about how The Enemy, The Devil, The Thief, The Destroyer, Angel of Darkness & Satan Himself(Just some of his pet names) loves to try and trick believers into thinking that we have no power. That we are just loosing at the fight of our faith. The Bishop reminded us that Greater is He that is in US than he that is in the world.(1 John 4:4) He also reminded us that we have to put on our whole armor of God(Ephesians 6:10-18) and fight back not back down or walk in defeat against the lies of the enemy. Understanding that we will not I REPEAT "Will Not" win in the flesh but, in the Faith that God has given us. So the next time it looks like the enemy is winning in my life or your own. Just stand up with your armor on and strong in your Faith. Fight the good fight of Faith and let the Devil know "it aint over till God said it's over"!!!

DING DING DING the bell rung you are still standing ROUND 2 BABY!!!!! YOU GOT THIS!!!

But you, Timothy, are a man of God; so run from all these evil things. Pursue righteousness and a godly life, along with faith, love, perseverance, and gentleness. Fight the good fight for the true faith. Hold tightly to the eternal life to which God has called you, which you have confessed so well before many witnesses. And I charge you before God, who gives life to all, and before Christ Jesus, who gave a good testimony before Pontius Pilate,(1 Timothy 6:11-13)

That Man Named Jesus.....Who is He Really?!?

                                                      (Prince of Peace Painting,Akiane)

Christ Is Supreme(Colossians 1:15-20 NLT)

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God.
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
 He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.
Christ is also the head of the church,
which is his body.
He is the beginning,
supreme over all who rise from the dead.
So he is first in everything.
For God in all his fullness
was pleased to live in Christ,
 and through him God reconciled
everything to himself.
He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth
by means of Christ’s blood on the cross.

Enough Said.....Now do you know him?

Reading by Lamplight....Bedtime Scripture

It is impossible to know God's will for you life without knowing God's word about your life. I tried it and trust me it dosent work. The transformation of your lifestyle and habits and ways dont disappear overnight but, the more you read God's word and apply them you will see the transformation take place. His word works you just have to make a decision to Trust Him and Use it!

Serenade............

Because God loves you Oh and it's Vday:)

This is a Song the Lord placed on my heart one night when I was bawling my eyes out feeling like I wasnt beautiful. I started asking God questions like "What's wrong with me" "Am I not good enough" etc Of course those were thoughts from the enemy. No matter what we go through or how messed up we feel God's love is always there for us. We are his beautiful creation made in his image. So even if you don't feel beautiful because of your trials You are Beautiful to Him and more than Enough!!!!

Song:You are So Beautiful to Me
Artist:Joe Cocker

Truths...........
So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.(Genesis 1:2)

I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.(Psalm 139:14)

The Greatest of These is Love......Enough Said

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(1 Corinthians 13:1-13)

If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.  If I had the gift of prophecy, and if I understood all of God’s secret plans and possessed all knowledge, and if I had such faith that I could move mountains, but didn’t love others, I would be nothing. If I gave everything I have to the poor and even sacrificed my body, I could boast about it; but if I didn’t love others, I would have gained nothing.

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud  or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.  Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

Prophecy and speaking in unknown languages  and special knowledge will become useless. But love will last forever!  Now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture!  But when the time of perfection comes, these partial things will become useless.

When I was a child, I spoke and thought and reasoned as a child. But when I grew up, I put away childish things.  Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely.

Three things will last forever—faith, hope, and love—and the greatest of these is love.

Blessings Loves,
Lisa

The Who, The What & The Where........

While I was at work today taking in all the shoppers for the upcoming Vday. The Lord placed this statement on my heart. "The Who, The What & The Where". It's not unlike God to just give me a phrase and send me on a hunt for the scriptures which I always enjoy. So I decided to share these with you before bed tonight. More like I couldn't wait to share:)

                                                 Truths.......

The Who...................
For the scripture says, Whosoever believes on him shall not be ashamed.(Romans 10:11)

The What......................
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.(Phillipians 4:8)

The Where....................
For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom(2 Corinthians 3:17)

Nite Nite....Blessings To You, Lisa

The Sooner Not Later Favor of God(Prophets Russ & Kitty Walden)

Not Another Faith Test....I just had one Yesterday:)

For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing(James 1:3-4)

I don't know about you but, I HATE test. Even when I was in Grade School and during my college classes test made me cringe. I wasnt a very good test taker but, I could verbally explain the lesson with no problems an apply what Ive learned with no issues. When the teacher said test I started to tremble, my nerves would kick in and before I even looked at the questions I had already counted myself out. I had already given up based off the way I felt. So I would write my name and begain reluctantly. I would answer as best as I could and sometimes go back 3 or 4 times to change my answers because I wasnt confident. It wasnt that I didn't know the material I just didn't like test and never felt prepared. It seemed they always came up when I had a million other things going on in my mind or needed to study for a different class. Neverthless I would turn in my paper and wait on my grade with anxiety and to my surprise I would always pass with a better grade than I anticipated. The testing of Faith is the same way. We all like to run for the hills or just plain give up when the testing comes but, how else can we grow or exercise our muscles in Christ if we don't hang in there. The foundation we have obtained is enough and sufficient so second guessing ourselves just means we are not confident in the work Jesus has already done in us. Faith testing is necessary to encourage others they can do all things through Christ who strengthens them but, to show ourselves also that Greater is He in us than he that is in the world. Our endurance is built and we can go a little further becoming perfect and complete realizing that He is enough and we have passed again with flying colors.

                                                       Truths..........

Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.(2 Corinthians 12:9)

But you belong to God, my dear children. You have already won a victory over those people, because the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world.(1 John 4:4)

For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.(Phillipians 4:13)

Labled a Loser but You are a Winner

"The God of the impossible does not allow a challenge to come into our lives unless He has a divine purpose for it. He uses all our flaws, our failures and all our pain – as we give it all to Him, to make us overcomers – more than conquerors in Him. It is so like Yahweh to use nobodies and turn them into His image - to use losers and make them winners."(Retha McPherson)

Some days it's easy to feel like a nobody in the eyesight of the world and even with the Lord. Especially when you have gone through lost or any type of pain. It can leave you feeling labled by the situation you faced and insignificant or a Nobody. Truth is God uses those same circumstances for His Glory. Those UnGodly Labels push you into a testimony of Restoration and Winnings in Him. As for me I felt that way going through a divorce. Walking around I felt like I had  labels on my forehead that said "Divorced" "She's Tainted" "Not Wanted" "Return to Sender"they kept me hostage and feeling boxed in and less than what God had created me to be. The enemy used them as a tool to keep me quiet and not walking in the Label God had created especially for me "Overcomer"! Yes it hurt and I claim my emotional healing but, it's still a daily process of trusting the Lord and believing him for the better purpose he has planned out for me and my marriage. So each day I'm reminded don't worry about the lost I will give you double, don't worry about the mourning I will give you the oil of Joy and definately dont worry about the Divorce because I AM a Restorer. So peel off your Label of loser because you are a WINNER!

Instead of shame and dishonor, you will enjoy a double share of honor. You will possess a double portion of prosperity in your land, and everlasting joy will be yours.(Isaiah 61:7)

Come back to the place of safety, all you prisoners who still have hope! I promise this very day that I will repay two blessings for each of your troubles(Zechariah 9:12)

To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the LORD has planted for his own glory.(Isaiah 61:3)

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God's very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light(1 Peter 2:9)

Blessings,
Lisa

Walking in the Fog..........

Hmmmmmmm what a day and so much on my mind. More often than not I find myself having days where I look around and everything looks foreign. I walk around seeing and hearing but, thinking how did I get here. Am I supposed to be here better yet am I dreaming. For me those times are when I know that God is shifting my spirit to a different level and I really need to focus on him. I'm lacking in an area with him and I need to get back on track to feel normal again. Trying to explain this to someone that isnt spiritually minded is like trying to explain something to someone in English who only speaks Chinese. It just dosent work they end up thinking "Ive lost my mind" or  I'm "Super Spiritual" and I end up getting discouraged. So I wonder around some more talking to the Lord and trying to focus my mind enough to read the word so I can get back on track again. God never said this relationship would be easy but, he did promise to help me through it. Seriously if it wasnt for the Holy Spirit bringing scripture to my mind even in the midst of the fog I would be lost. Sometimes I have to fight through the fog to really focus on the scripture because it's so thick with the cares of the world, dissapointments and delayed promises. Thank God for his hand even in the midst to guide us when we are struggling and feel like we'll never see clearly again. Thank God for the Holy Spirit speaking life to our spirits with the word of God when it seems like the Fog is getting the best of us. Thank God!!!!!Jesus died and reconciled us back to the Father  making it possible for us to have a hand to guide us through. It's not easy and Im not perfect but, Im still walking through and not stopping because I know it wont last always. Besides I'm learning to embrace the Fog it keeps me in rememerance that Im in this world but, no longer of it. So I'll just keep walking:)

The LORD will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring.(Isaiah 58:11)

But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative--that is, the Holy Spirit--he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you. (John 14:26)

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him.(2 Corinthians 5:18)

Lisa
